Obsidian Facts

Obsidians were a happy accident. Instead of shattering them, the Diamond Court found them useful with their ability to naturally soothe any distressed gem. In addition to their ability to calm, Obsidians could control other gems by manipulating their emotions. Their on-stage purpose was basically to serve as therapists and mediators. They’d be present during debates and to keep the peace during dire situations. Their real purpose, behind the scenes, was to control soldiers, especially during the rebellion. Obsidians brainwashed soldiers in order to keep them loyal to Homeworld. However, due to their power over any gem, even Diamonds, most were shattered especially after the rebellion put their loyalty into question.
